To prove his point, the YouTuber took his mixed-reality headset for a day at Disney World. In the video, Lynch shows himself at Disney World walking around Epcot, looking at Cinderella's Castle, sitting on a ride, and watching a firework show, all while wearing the Quest 3. As someone who lives near Disney World, Lynch told Insider he visits the parks frequently, which allowed him to film himself at the park, and he'd probably wear the headset to it again.

Fanatics will launch a new live events business that will look to recreate the Comic-Con experience for sports collectibles, the company said Thursday. The new venture, called Fanatics Events, will be a partnership with events and talent management giant IMG, which is part of Endeavor . Fanatics Events plans to organize global events through partnerships and acquisitions. Fanatics said Fanatics Events aims to start holding events next year. The simultaneous publication of titles through the company’s VIZ Manga app is part of an effort to get manga more quickly into the hands of fans at a time of booming readership, the company said. And it may also help fight pervasive piracy. “In the last few years, manga became so much bigger,” said Ken Sasaki, the chief executive of VIZ Media, which is based in San Francisco and is a subsidiary of the Japanese publisher Hitotsubashi Group. Sales jumped 9 percent in 2022, ICv2 reported in March.

HBO Max has set a Jan. 12, 2023, release date for Mindy Kaling’s animated series “Velma,” a spinoff of the beloved, but family-friendly, “Scooby-Doo” series. In this modern, adult-oriented take on the classic “Scooby-Doo” franchise, the series follows the origin story of Velma Dinkley (Kaling), the brainiac of the Mystery Inc. gang. After a corpse is found in her high school, Velma teams up with Daphne (Constance Wu), Shaggy (Sam Richardson) and Fred (Glenn Howerton) to solve the murder. Kaling’s series also reimagines several members of the Mystery Inc. gang, including making Velma of South Asian descent. “We want to honor other interpretations and what we think feels really modern,” Kaling explained at NYCC.
